This Project is a self-made project all about minimalistic, geometric designs, with each design revolving around the use of circles.
For this project, I had to create a digital product that I could then sell online to create an extra piece of income for myself. For this product I had to both create the product, the branding for the product, as well as a website that I can promote and sell my product online.
Once again, I initially started off by creating a mind map to brainstorm all of the different ideas I had for my digital project as I had several ideas but not quite sure in what direction to take. I had several ideas which I outlined in the mind-map, though the thought of minimalistic illustrations stood out to me most, mainly due to the fact that I’ve been starting to create minimalistic designs myself in my free time as well as the different possibilities on what I can sell to the public.
After deciding on the direction I wanted to take, I then started to do some idea generations for the designs of my product. This entailed by me drawing out 27 circles on different pages and then drawing different minimal designs in each. Once all the designs were drawn out, I then went back and selected my favourite designs to refine & development them more into proper full designs before digitising them within Adobe Illustrator.
After creating the paper versions of my designs, I went into Illustrator to start digitising them before creating mock-ups on how the final product will look like. I also started to develop the brand of my product more by creating a word-mark as well as a simple logo design that can be used to represent the product.
Overall, I am really happy how this project went with both the Designs I created but also the Quality of the Prints. I was able to learn the importance of idea generation as well the importance on marketing and branding of not only the product, but yourself as a designer to try and get your work out to more people.
